Dharma was first led to yoga and meditation at a young age, and his intimate and evolving relationship with them continues. His practice spans 25 years, and nearly 18 years teaching.
Dharma's first introduction and initiation into these practices was through the Mahayana and Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. Later he was guided to Integral Yoga and Satyananda Yoga, and was initiated into the Saraswati Sannyas Tradition by Paramahamsa Niranjanananda Saraswati, of Munger, India, successor of Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati.
Dharma has undergone, and continues to undergo, extensive advanced yogic, meditative and sannyasa (monk) training in Australia and India. He has successfully run Satyananda yoga-meditation centres throughout Australia, South Africa, Spain, Italy and Wales teaching extensively with corporates, schools, drug and alcohol services and in aboriginal and men’s health.
A warm, insightful, sensitive and inspiring teacher,
Dharma runs innovative and creative meditation and yoga courses at introductory through to advanced levels, and delivers personalised tuition.
Workshops, wellness programs and seminars on a range of meditative, yoga and shiatsu topics are also offered.
His approach is clear, precise, humorous, compassionate and poetic with an underlying vision of meditation as a way of life.
Further Dharmavanam is a highly experienced, talented and reputed shiatsu therapist, specialising in Zen and Somatic Shiatsu, having practised for the last 16 years.
